HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Our Habitat For Humanity volunteers Tegan Higginbotham and Carinda Harris have successfully completed their first build.
Red Lantern were the proud sponsors of the 'Red Lantern Duo'making it possible for them to take part in the Tien Giang build project which took place from the 11 - 25th July 2009.
As a young and environmentally conscious restaurant with connections to Vietnam, Red Lantern are thrilled to have helped improve the quality of housing, water and sanitation and making substantial changes to the daily lives of people of the Tien Giang Province.
We understand that the Vietnamese, however poor are very proud people. This way, we have offered them a 'hand up' and not a 'hand out.'

ROOM TO READ
We are also proud to support Room To Read, an organisation which partners with local communities throughout the developing world to provide quality educational opportunities by establishing libraries, creating local language children's literature, constructing schools, and providing education to the underprevileged.
Since its inception in 2000, Room To Read has built more than 400 schools and 5100 libraries and awarded 4000 scholarships to girls. Room to Read’s Sydney launch Wine Gala was a spectacular success and raised around $400,000 which will help provide opportunities that change children’s lives and communities throughout the developing world.
